Pros of silk

The miracle cure for healthy, shiny & sleek hair.

What are silk scrunchies good for?

Luxurious silk is a real beauty secret! Here is why:

hair like silk

Fine and soft silk fibres make sure that the hair is not damaged or strained unneccessarily.

Pleasant-to-wear-sensation:

Scrunchies covered with silk fabric are unlike other scrunchies soft and comfortable.

No more dry hair:

In contrast to other materials, silk does not deprive moisture from your hair. The protein sericin protects the hair surface and moisturises at the same time.

Well-groomed hair in the morning:

A tail tied up with a scrunchie made of silk prevents tangling.

Protects the hair-ends:

Split ends can be mechanical friction. The smooth surface of the silk fabric causes friction to be minimized and consequently less hair breakage.

Natural material, no chemical fibres:

Synthetic fibers Fibers (e.g. polyester, polyamide, elastane, polyacrylic) are made from produced coal, oil, and natural gas. Because silk is a natural fiber, which is made by the silkworm. One important aspect is fewer fossil fuels dispensed with, which is more environmentally friendly.

Less broken hair:

Nasty “bends” can be reduced by using silk scrunchies.

Trendy:

Scrunchies are totally trendy. Whether messy bun or normal tail, scrunchies finish up every hairdo. So why not combine haircare with style?

What are the components of silk?

Silks are normally known as proteic polymers, that are found in glands of the silkworm and are woven to fibers during metamorphose. The strings of the silkworm have been used for 4000 years in the textile industry and are highly appreciated due to their soft, sparkling shine and their good mechanical characteristics.

Silk consists of two main proteins: silk fibroin and sericin. The sticky sericin surrounds the fibroin, it is generally soluble and can be removed through a thermochemical treatment.

Sericin is added to many beauty products since it protects the skin and hair surface and moisturizes.

Silk fibroin has excellent mechanical characteristics, a shiny surface, good biocompatibility, and is biodegradable. The semi-cristalline structure of the fiber protein ensures stability, resistance, and durabilty.

Why is liquid silk being used for hair care?

That silk has a positive effect on the health of your hair is nothing new. For many years silk has been added to shampoos, conditioners and liquid soap. The reason for that is the fact that silk moisturises your hair. Silk proteins create a layer on your hair, which makes your hair easy to comb.
